PROJECT MANAGEMENT

We offer turn-key solutions for entire projects from the land survey, to design, permittingĀ  and construction. We are also happy to work with clients in any sub-section of the project, be it the construction alone, or a specialized trade.

ROOFING SOLUTIONS

The unfortunate truth about roofs is that they leak ! - even new ones. This can be the result of poor workmanship, but more often is the result of inherent design faults both in the roof itself and the detailing of the building fabric.

Often what appears to be a roof leak (because it appears in the middle of the building) can be the result of deteriorated control joints or bad wall detailing. When considering roof solutions we take the whole structure into account.

PRE-PLANNING & PERMITS

Pretty much anything except cosmetic work requires permits in a commercial building, which in turn demands the provision of floor plans, fire routes, elevations, details and specifications. We are well equipped to provide all of these and perform the work.

FIRE CODE

While it is one of the most important elements of the building code, it is also the one that seems to be the most often overlooked when apparent cosmetic work is performed. Something as simple as the installation of a door in a corridor to stop drafts can cause a serious fire code violation and pose a grave danger to employees.

icon

ACCESSIBLE BUILDING CODE

The accessible building code requires all commercial properties to comply with the code in relation to people with disabilities , such as wheelchair friendly restrooms, (including employees) ramps, guard rails etc.

icon

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance and ongoing repairs and alterations need to be carefully planned to ensure that their knock-on effect does not negatively impact other aspects of either the daily use of the building or create overlooked code violations.

Health and safety regulations are of great importance here, both for the people performing the work and for employees who work in the vicinity of the ongoing alterations.

icon

CANOPIES AND WALKWAYS

Apart from providing comfort from the elements, they provide an important safety measure for a company to protect against injury due to falls from ice and slippery conditions which can often lead to expensive lawsuits.

icon

BUND & RETENTION WALLS

It's a lot easier to put in correct retention and safe enclosures before the land slippage occurs or the chemical spill happens.

REPURPOSED CONCRETE

Concrete manufacture and installation is a highly greenhouse gas intensive operation. The demolition and removal of concrete which is often later crushed to form aggregate for new concrete is also highly greenhouse gas intensive.

Repurposed concrete offers a solution to this problem by removing concrete in tact, and with skilled masonry skills re-installing it for a different application. Old weathered concrete slabs can form an aesthetic solution in the form of large pavers, to form path, floors and paved out-door areas, where it can be cut to shape, polished, dyed, exposed aggregate or whatever the keen design specialist envisions.

INDUSTRIAL WATER STORAGE TANK & PUMP HOUSE FOR CHEMICAL PLANT

uline

This was a solution to a problem which is occurring more and more in the Industrial setting. Due to the expansion of cities and the pressure on water resources, cities are demanding that industrial plants have their own water storage to feed their sprinkler systems. This is being enforced by hefty fines coming down from the EPA. The good news is that these fines can be mitigated by capital improvements.

Here we provided site geothechnical survey to determine soil type and bearing capacity allowing us to design foundations necessary for a 200,000 gallon water tank and design the pump house to facilitate the pumping equipment.
